What is the Difference between Hand-Picked and Mine Run?
Hand-Picked
Our hand-picked Chrysocolla is exactly that – the BEST lapidary quality material is picked, by hand, from the mine run. Every pound or ton of material has been carefully examined and only included in this classification if it meets our strict standards to be considered High Grade. Many of these specimens have such beauty that they can be standalone pieces for a desk, credenza or mantle. Price-breaks are given every ton. Since large (1000+ pound) specimens of hand-picked high grade are rare, we sell them ala cart via our sales page. The more you buy, the cheaper per pound!
Mine Run
Mine run will contain host rock, specular hematite and Chrysocolla. If you need LARGE specimen’s – these are easier to produce. It is substantially cheaper than hand-picked and turn around on very large orders is faster than Hand-Picked.
Classifications
There are several different classifications we have for you to select from.

- Or a mix of each. Please give a rough percentage approximation of what you are looking for. (50% Small, 25% Medium, 25% Large)
- Big Berthas – These are magnificent Chrysocolla specimens that are not mounted yet for display and can range from 500 lbs to 1.5 tons. They are truly amazing to behold.
